MOBILE APP ART
I like the ethnogrophy and I could see why it wasn't so successful at times with students. Personally, I attempted doing it but I hate spending the night with no phone because that's when I most use it.

Thinking along the lines of this project I thought of another mobile app prompt that could be done. It still requires being off your phone for a certain amount of time and creating an artwork while being off of it. This is to allow you to use all the inspiration around you, but your phone. No outside sources through media etc, should influence your painting, drawing, sculpture, make up, outfit design, or whatever art piece you are interested in doing. Then in groups of 4 or more you would create a collage on instagram or facebook, and post it. The photo series should be titled without a description of what the group members underwent and achieved.

I think the point is to being able to start something, and finish it without the use of breaks to check your phone for whatever reason which can at times distract you from the present and what's around you. I have a tendency of always checking my phone when doing homework, cleaning, reading, etc. It's such a bad habit and I think this little project would be an easy and pleasant break from that.
Put them away!!
